Hi, I’m Aminah, the founder of Our Little Academy! I created this academy from my deep love for reading and teaching, and I’m so excited to be part of your child’s learning journey. I’m a Georgia-certified teacher with experience teaching kindergarten through fourth grade in both public and private schools, but my favorite role? Teaching little ones how to read!

I taught both of my sons to read at just 3 years old. Now, my oldest is 5 and an advanced reader. The experience of guiding them through their reading journey sparked something in me—I realized just how much I love teaching young learners in a way that keeps them engaged, focused, and having fun. As a homeschool mom, I’ve spent years figuring out how to make learning effective without forcing kids to sit still for long periods. I believe reading should be joyful, not frustrating, and I use hands-on, playful methods to help children build strong literacy skills in short, meaningful sessions.

Leaving the classroom to focus on my children gave me the opportunity to combine my teaching experience and passion for literacy to start this business. This isn’t just a dream of starting any business—it’s a dream of creating a space where I can share my passion for teaching little ones to read in a way that truly works for them. There’s nothing better than seeing a child’s face light up when they realize they can read on their own!
